Teaching: The Cliff That Changes Us
I never dreamed of becoming a teacher. It wasn’t my passion, not even my Plan B. In fact, I always believed that the education field wasn’t meant for me. But life, as always, has a peculiar way of rewriting our scripts, and here I am, standing in front of a classroom, discovering new sides of myself every day.
People often say teaching is a divine calling. I used to disagree. Until I found my own metaphor for it.
Teaching feels like standing on the edge of a cliff. From this height, we are aware of the dangers, uncertainties, and responsibilities lying ahead. When we raise our voices, in excitement, frustration, or hope, our words echo, amplified by the wisdom and warnings of the teachers who came before us. Their voices remind us of the pitfalls we must avoid.
And when we laugh or celebrate a child’s small triumph, we hear echoes of pride, the pride of all those who once lit the same torch and passed it on.
Just like a cliff, this profession has a dual power. It can awaken a sense of self-realization… or overwhelm and break us. That is why teachers hold such a crucial responsibility, to guide each student toward fulfillment, confidence, and joy. To ensure that the cliff becomes a place of growth, not fear.
Tomorrow, our own voices will become echoes that guide a new generation of teachers. The cycle continues, beautifully and endlessly.
So yes, maybe teaching is a divine calling, not because of perfection or moral superiority, but because of the strength it demands. It takes a brave heart to stand on this cliff, to face the world’s judgment, and still look beyond for the sake of others.
To an outsider, teachers might seem strict, loud, indifferent, or overly invested. But the truth is, we gather every ounce of courage to protect and enlighten those who trust us. Because each lesson isn’t just about knowledge; it’s about shaping character, building resilience, and growing alongside our students.
Teaching changes us. It tests us. And in the most unexpected ways, it elevates us.
Here’s to the cliff, and to everyone who dares to stand at its edge.
I may not have chosen teaching at first, but teaching chose me, and I’m learning every day that the view from this cliff is worth it.

Really nice. Can understand the effort of a teacher.❤️
